Veronica Collens • Words of a Song

Surbiton (Out of Order)

[Jazz-Rock]

Got a lot that I ought to do
Write a book or a song or two
Feed the flat
Clean the cat
Launderette all the socks and jeans
Go and buy lots of tins of bins
Ride my kite
Fly my bike

It's nearly noon
Must get up soon
Last night was great
What did I take
To get this spaced out
There's little doubt
Must've had a good time
Spun a good line
Don't remember coming home

Find some work - make a job of it
Use my head - make the pieces fit
Save a meal
Cook a seal
Take a walk - give the lungs some air
Meet the kids - take 'em to the fair
Roller date
Make a skate

It's almost four
That's really a bore
Done nothing yet
'cept lay a bet
That big blue fly
Will surely die
As everyone does
When they run out of buzz
So I'll stay here 'til dark

Study up ancient history
Do a course in phylosophy
Go and boat
Sail a vote
Catch a train - go to Waterloo
Board a bus - take in something new
Play some guards
Change the cards

That's all so busy
It makes me dizzy
Much safer here
Don't need to care
The world goes round
Without me I've found
Taking part's no point
So I'll role me a joint
Then go on down the pub
